The Castle Trip

The planned trip is for Křivoklát Castle on Thursday 6th of June. We have booked a bus, which will take us from Prague centre, after lunch, to the castle location. There, we have booked a guided tour of 45 minutes of the most breathtaking places the castle has to offer. Afterwards, there will be a short time for free walk around the premises. At the end of the day, the bus will take us back to Prague and straight to dinner at U Semika hotel at 7pm.

Bus will pick us up at the Vítězná street (at the end of the street closer to the bridge, see the map below) at 2pm, just 5 minutes walk cross the bridge (or one stop by a tram) from the venue. Please be there on time.

Some info about the Křivoklát castle

One of the oldest and most significant royal castles, its appearance was shaped by the Přemyslids, Luxembourgs and Jagiellons. The castle became a magnificent royal residence, and later a feared prison under the Fürstenbergs - Bishop Jan Augusta of the Czech Brethren and the Rudolfine alchemist Edward Kelly were imprisoned there. Today the tours include the Gothic Castle Chapel, the Royal and Knight's Halls with a collection of medieval art and the Library with 52,000 volumes, as well as the Fürstenberg museum, the Great Tower with hunting collections and Huderka Tower with a black kitchen and lookout gallery.

The Dinner

After the castle trip, there will be a dinner at the (restaurant of the) U Semika hotel. We have booked the restaurant from 7pm. There will be choice of many different meals and drinks. We hope everyone will be able to find their favorites.

The U Semika hotel (google map) is located close to the tram stop Albertov (lines 7, 14, 18, 24) with a good connection to the city center. Alternatively, we recommend to get after the dinner back to the city center by a very nice walk along the river.
