Description

For the need of thermal fatigue studies in the NPPs, the coef h sensor (CEA patented) has been designed to make measurements in the mixing areas at high gap of temperature in order to supply the thermal load due to the fluctuating temperature (FATHER and FATHERINO experiments).This sensor equipped of encapsuled four temperature measurements (3 in the solid and 1 in the fluid) uses an inverse conduction algorithm provides all the heat transfer features (fluid and solid temperatures, heat flux and wall temperature, and the heat transfer coefficient) in local and at high dynamic. Two new coef h sensors are in progress of development, one to extend the field for the dead leg geometry (mini Coef h - reduced size) and the second, the Coef h CM to investigate the heat transfer in the heat exhangers (plate and tube geometries) using the HTCC method with fine layers of ceramic. Both sensors are designed to improve the knowledge for the heat transfer in the NPP applications.
