Description

The Astroparticle Physics European Consortium (APPEC) Technology Forum https://www.appec.org/implementation/technology generally offers opportunities for discussion about technical challenges of the Astroparticle community often shared with the Particle Physics and Nuclear Physics ones, and to offer opportunities to foster communication between science and industry.

The APPEC invites experts from industry and academia to the APPEC Technology Forum 2022 (ATF 2022) as a continuation of a successful series of appointments in the past years. The ATF 2022 is dedicated to the subject of common interest with broad scientific and engineering communities, with a priority for “Robotics and operation at large-scale instruments in harsh environments”. The aim of the ATF 2022 meeting is uniting scientific researchers and experts from industry, research institutes, universities dealing with the subject of the conference, which is the important aspect in many research and application areas, such as experiments in high-energy physics using colliding particle beams, space missions (including robotics) or satellites orbiting our planet, radiation therapy, robotics in medical application (including also Covid-19 era), and nuclear power reactors (including severe accident monitoring). The date of ATF 2022 is September 20-21, 2022.

ATF 2022 is organized by APPEC, NuPPEC, ECFA consortiums and by the Institute of Experimental and Applied Physics (IEAP CTU), Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics (CIIRC, both part of the Czech Technical University in Prague) and the National Radiation Protection Institute (NRPI).

The ATF 2022 meeting will take place at the CIIRC, Czech Technical University, Prague. The scientific programme will take place in Respirium conference room in the CIIRC (https://www.ciirc.cvut.cz/about/ciirc-ctu-building/). The building is situated in a strategic location in Dejvice, Prague 6, just 30 minutes away from international Václav Havel Airport Prague, or 20 minutes of walking from Prague castle with excellent public-transport access to the city center.

The capital city of the Czech Republic is a city combining rich medieval town with different architectural styles and modern research and innovation. Prague is sometimes considered the heart of the European continent. It is not surprising that it attracted many famous scientists or artists, such as Tycho Brahe, Jan Kepler, Ernest Mach, Christian Doppler or Albert Einstein, and Franz Kafka, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonín Dvořák.

We hope you will enjoy the city and its area as well as the technical and social programs we have put together.
